Where to find the best brunch in Paris

Paris offers two very different brunches. The palaces turn Sunday into an occasion: Café de la Paix – InterContinental Paris Le Grand faces the Opéra Garnier from €98, La Cuisine – Le Royal Monceau Raffles Paris lays on an all-you-can-eat spread from €130, and La Bauhinia – Shangri-La Paris serves seafood and caviar beneath a glass dome from €158. Le Meurice Alain Ducasse offers a table-served brunch from €195, Il Ristorante Niko Romito – Bvlgari Hotel Paris brings an Italian Sunday to avenue George V from €140, and LiLi – The Peninsula Paris stands apart with a Cantonese brunch on Saturdays from €138; on Sundays, the same hotel's Le Lobby – The Peninsula Paris serves an all-you-can-eat brunch beneath the gilded vaulted ceilings of a former ballroom, from €185, in two seatings. Brach Paris, Le Tout-Paris – Cheval Blanc Paris and its Seine-facing terrace complete the list.

The independents are cheaper and more relaxed. Around Canal Saint-Martin, Holybelly and Immersion République share the same street. Near Bastille, Brother Sister and Kafkaf (dishes from about €13) bring California and Marrakech to the 11th, where Les Bariolés de Maud also serves its colourful sharing boards. Close to Notre-Dame, Brunch aux Olives and Kozy Notre-Dame cost roughly €20–30, while Wonderland Brunchy Notre-Dame has a terrace facing the Seine on Île Saint-Louis. Season Marais, La Petite Bleue near the Opéra and La Compagnie du Café (€24) round things off.
